Hamburg City Kids – Germany’s largest pupils triathlon

The largest school sport event in Hamburg took place on the 24th and 25th of June 2010. In its sixth’s year the event could announce a new record of 2.500 kids competing. Because of the high demand on kids willing to start it was extended to two days for the first time. Furthermore the Pupils Triathlon has a new name now, it is now called Hamburg City Kids.

The idea of a triathlon for pupils as an official school event with more or less closed grades but outside of the school environment has been a great success. For the next year the organizer Upsolut is expecting about 4.000 pupils from grade two up to grade thirteen who are going to compete in swimming, biking and running. The focus, however, is not on winning the competition but rather the team spirit and the feeling when crossing the finishing line.
